The Radium Girls’ story illuminated the lack of workers’ safety and its importance. Their fortitude spread awareness of the dangers of workplace hazards, and played a pivotal role leading to the development of organizations and occupational disease laws. They set a precedent for future employees’ and employers’ rights and responsibilities, establishing precautions used in the medical and industrial worlds today, and policed by these organizations.
